Hello my lovely readers! Today’s blog is all about Golden Rose Velvet Matte Lipstick in shade 18! 🙂 As I promised on my previous blogs, I’ll be reviewing everything that I received from giveaways. Here.
So, let’s start! I don’t usually like to wear red lipsticks, ‘cos I think I don’t look good when I’m wearing it, but this lipstick came into my life so I’ve made it a try! 😀
Wearing red lipstick makes you look classy, bold and so sophisticated, but it must be worn right, so it will suit on you.
I learned a lot from reading articles about make ups, so I’ll be sharing some tips when wearing red lipstick. 🙂
First, wearing lipstick depends on your skin tone. If you have FAIR SKIN, you should wear pure red with no hint of orange. If you have MEDIUM SKIN, wearing pinkish or orange lipstick with a hint of red will looks perfect for you. If you have DARK SKIN, darker shades of red will suit on you.
Second, lip liner is your bff! If you’re wearing a red lipstick make sure that you pick a shade of lip liner that’s close to your lipstick. That’s why I’m so glad thay Ms. Moe also gave me a matched up lip liner. 🙂 Lip liner also makes your lips look better and help your lipstick to last longer.
Third, if you’re using a matte lipstick, use a smudge brush to blend the lip liner and the lipstick.
Fourth, if you want your lipstick to last all day, fill your lips with lip liner because the wax consistency of it will help the lipstick to hold the color.
Fifth, apply concealer in the top and middle of your mouth to create an illusion that you have fuller lips.
Last, don’t wear colorful eye shadows. Might as well, wear warm toned eye shadows.
Anyway, these are some tips that I still remember, hope it helps! 🙂
So, here’s a review on Golden Rose Velvet Matte Lipstick in 18:
Price: Free (Php 199.00)
Can be bought at: at selected Watsons and SM Beauty Section
Net Weight: 4.2 g
Made in Turkey
It has a burgundy packaging and golden prints with a black ring in the middle. It comes with twist up lipstick tube. At the bottom, you’ll see a number which indicate as the shade. I think it would be better if they’ll name each shade. You can also see that there’s a picture of a little pot with 24M which stands for 24 months. That’s the shelf life of the thing once it has been opened.
I love its velvety matte application. Glides smoothly and even on my lips. It gives a little shine and moist in the beginning but sets into a matte finish after a few minutes. I can even wear this without lip balm underneath, but make sure to exfoliate your lips first to have a good base.
Sorry guys I forgot to took a photo of my bare lips. I got this photo on my previous blog. Here.
One swipe (no flash + natural lightning) Looks shiny and a bit moist ‘cos it still don’t settle into matte finish.
One swipe (with flash)
Two swipes (with flash)
Two swipes (no flash + natural lightning) It already sets into a matte finish. 🙂
After eating oil-based meal. It literally kill off its amazing color.
After taking a bath. It still leave stain on my lips. Amazing! 🙂
Does it transfer? Big YES! Even on my food.
Overall, I was amazed of its velvety matte formula, it’s non drying and nourished my lips because of its Vitamin E which helps to moisturize our lips and promotes a longer staying power. This product is very pigmented and the color pay off is the best. Glides smoothly and even on my lips. Texture is velvety, if you just apply it, it’s a bit shiny but it sets into a matte finish after a few minutes.
What I don’t like about this product, it transfers on my glass while drinking and even on my food. After eating the lipstick fades away. This last 3-4 hours on my lips and it also leave stain after eating and taking a bath.
